The day after Open Space
Art of Harvesting, Art of Hosting, Collaboration, Open Space
One of the things I love about my mate Geoff Brown who lives in the lovely Airey’s Inlet, Australia, is his incredible willingness to be playful and creative in his facilitation work and especially in his harvesting work. He is one of the few that gets how important the harvest is – at least as important as the hosting. In this great post, Geoff shares his recent experience with Open Space and with a fantastic harvest that captures that creative brilliance of the group he was working with: The day after Open Space
Thanks Chris … I was lucky to have a client who pushed me to design a harvest into the 4 day program.
The ‘most’ beautiful thing about the video process was the fact that I played a back-seat role (and didn’t get in the way of ‘their’ work). Even when the group started to struggle and groan as a team (with leaders stepping up and back), I intervened in really small ways – Viv’s 3 word coach game that she learned in Amsterdam was perfect.
Here’s most of what I said … “How are we?” ; “Ok, what next?” ; “Who else can?” ; “1 hour to-go”
Nothing like a day together after the Open Space closing to start working on stuff together!
