I am learning Taekwondo. Tuesday was my first class, and as I tied my white belt on for the first time, I had that old Suzuki quote in my mind: “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.” I have forgotten what it is like to learn something about which I know nothing.
